Alcove shelving, sideboards and log storage, designed and made in South East London.
A commission for a compact flat with challenging proportions and subtle subsidence, the brief was to make the space feel intentional and open without resorting to conventional fitted joinery. The design needed to engage with the room’s imperfections rather than conceal them.
Formed in locally sourced London Plane and steel, the furniture reads as a single gesture falling from ceiling to floor.
A long U-shaped bend descends to meet the wall, referencing architectural features while remaining distinctly furniture.
The contrast between the warm timber and the reflective metal introduces lightness and rhythm, grounding the room through
materiality and composition.
